Cooking & Baking Therapy Program
Home-school cooking and baking therapy
Welcome to our 10-week Home-School Cooking & Baking Therapy Program
We believe the kitchen is a wonderful environment for learning, connecting, building confidence and developing independence.
Our 10-week program provides students with a supportive, engaging and hands-on learning experience. Students develop practical life skills while exploring cooking and baking in a fun, meaningful and purposeful way.
Throughout the program, students participate in age-appropriate cooking and baking activities, preparing both sweet and savoury foods while building skills they can apply to everyday life.

Learning through practical experiences
At The Culinary School, we believe learning becomes more meaningful when students can connect what they are learning in the kitchen to the world around them.
Learning through practical experiences
The kitchen provides a real-life, hands-on learning environment where academic and functional skills can be practised naturally. The focus is not simply on producing a finished dish; the cooking process itself becomes the learning experience.
Measuring and weighing ingredients
Reading recipes and instructions
Working with others
Adapting when plans change
Connecting learning with life
Cooking and baking create opportunities to develop skills that can be applied beyond the classroom, including everyday responsibilities, future employment pathways, community participation and independent living.
